Theme Song of the Day:Dreams by Fleetwood Mac
Reading: Women Who Run With The Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype By Clarissa Pinkola Estes
Drinking: Sweet As Pacific Ale from Goodlife Brewing
The dried sage was added to the fire right after I built it, contributing a rich, earthy allure to the already smoky fragrance wafting through the air. Pine needles fell from the trees above like autumn snow in the light breeze, while I sat on the nearby bench reading Women Who Run With The Wolves.
I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend one of the first nights of fall. Mike and Collins hiked up a nearby ridge as I tended the fire, and later Mike and I drank Sweet As and talked until we were too tired to keep our eyes open.
The next morning we drove home. Stopping every few miles to take in the wildflowers and and golden glow of Big Summit Prairie.
